Exciting times

2022 is going to be the best year in ages. There I’ve told myself and you and I’m going to be right on this one. For one thing I’m going to lose this excess weight and keep it off. Second |’m going to get fitter than I’ve been in a while. And third thing, I’m getting married. Yep, in August G and I are tying the knot after 8 years together!

Weight

First a catch up on my weight situation. Another 1.5lb lost this week and that makes 7lb this month so far. I’m feeling better in that my clothes are fitting better and I’m feeling less un fit. Today when climbing the hill home after swimming I wasn’t out of breath and that is an advance on where I was. Measurements are going well too, I’ve lost a total of 8 inches from various places. But this time my hips are showing the biggest loss. So, go me.

Alcohol

We called a halt to dry January this weekend and are now going on to a more ‘moderation’ phase. That means wine with dinner and maybe an extra glass or two over the weekend and then nothing during the week. So, tomorrow we’ll be back onto water with meals.

Diet

G brought in some croissants on Friday morning, I was tempted, but not that much! So he had another on Saturday and I felt good about it. Over the weekend I’ve eaten my own homemade bread, but tomorrow I’ll be back on my usual lunches. I’m planning a large crustless quiche and some coleslaw which I’ll make in the morning for the week’s lunches. I’m determined to make this work.

Wedding plans

Yesterday, along with my son and daughter in law we went to look at a wedding venue. They offer a special price for small weddings on weekdays. So, we’ve chosen Thursday 11th August. Tomorrow I need to call the registrar office to book the actual wedding which will take place at the hotel. Hopefully the weather will be good enough to have the ceremony outside. We plan to invite about 30 guests and I’m hoping quite a few will want to stay at the hotel and make a real event of it all.

My daughter in law is keen to help with planning and arrangements and I’m looking forward to her helping me with everything.

Afterwards we had lunch in an amazing Brazilian restaurant. It was a buffet for salad, potatoes etc. Then the chef came round with freshly cooked grilled meat. Lots of meat! It was amazing and confirmed to me that I can never become a vegetarian.

So that’s a round up of the exciting stuff going on round here. More to report soon hopefully.
