My secret identity: a sex-blogging superhero
First day back from holiday and suddenly yesterday I had lost my blogging mojo. The discovery that I am shadow banned on Twitter just added to my apathy.
Somehow over the past couple of years I have become more and more engaged with Twitter as a social media platform. I find myself going there when I wake and again many times during the day. My posts auto tweet and during the day a couple of older posts appear. Some days I tweet quite a bit, engaging with others and other times not.
I have no way of knowing whether this behaviour alone has led to Twitter taking against me or if it is the photos. After all, the photo below, which appeared as part of my post on Sunday is pretty graphic. But since Twitter don’t admit shadow banning is even a thing, all I can do is surmise. Still it will make my SoSS all the more pertinent this week.
Finally I am in a position to realise my objectives. At last, after more than 4 years of talking about selling my house and moving on from my marriage it is in touching distance.
Now, the hard work must be undertaken. What to throw away, what to put into storage, what to take with me. Master has cleared out a lot of clutter, but there is still work to be done. Also, he is planning some building work, so I can’t take all of my belongings straight there. Plus there is the emotional attachment I have to this house, I have lived here for 27 years. We moved here when my son was a baby of just 5 months and so there are lots of memories here.
But now is the time to move on and to create a new home, one with Master. We will both need to adapt to our new life and to make room for each other. But it will mean we can be together and can start to plan some new plans and work on those outcomes. It also means I am going to resign my job soon and take a breather. The next few months will be emotional, but interesting and fun too.
How long does it take to reach 300?
300 what, I hear you say. To walk or swim 300 metres is relatively easy. 300 are letters more difficult to write.
What about 300 posts on a blog. That took me just over 2 years and 2 relationships (3 if you include the marriage I was still in at the time). Looking back at my 300th post, I remembered the happiness, pain and sadness of the time.
Master was away in the USA at the time, visiting his then LDR slave. Back then, I was not his primary concern, but he had days before asked me to be slave rather than submissive. I don’t know why, but yes seemed the right thing to say even though I didn’t know what it really meant. Perhaps something inside us both told us that we were on the correct journey. My 300th post then, in hindsight feels significant.
Rebel’s 300th Wicked Wednesday is something surely to be proud of. If I wrote my blog every day (which I doubt I could), I could reach 300 posts in under a year. But 300 Wicked Wednesdays is over 5 years. That is around the length of time I have been blogging (give or take a few weeks).
For 6 years in June, Wicked Wednesday has been running. For all of those 300 weeks I owned a blog and could have posted. Of course, I came along much later and anyway haven’t posted every week since. But 300 Wicked Wednesdays is not only a lot to write for, it is a major task to administer and manage. I am in awe of Marie Rebelle for doing just that. Writing, managing and administering Wicked Wednesday for 300 weeks. Offering us inspiring prompts and encouraging us bloggers all the way. Long may Wicked Wednesday continue. I hope to contribute to many of the next 300.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks so, while November was much better in terms of writing and posting, there is room for improvement. It has now been confirmed that rather than happening before Christmas, mum will move on 12th January. This means that the pressure is off and I will have more time for me and us in the run up to Christmas. I have loads of ideas for blog posts and want to join in on writing something for the Eroticon Anthology. I just need to crack on and devote time to getting things done. Now though onto the purpose of this post – #SoSS (Share our Shit Saturday) No 2.
MPB’s picks of the week
I can only imagine how difficult it must be to go through the writings of a sister who passed away a year ago. A wrote some amazing stuff on the blog she shared with M. I am so thankful that M is sharing some of A’s early work with us. I was particularly struck by this amazing postthis week by Cammies On The Floor.
The Smut Marathon is something I would love to participate in, but am not sure I have the talent for. This is a 10 round writing marathon, which is being run and hosted by Marie Rebelle from Rebel’s notes. Probably time to just go for it!
Just as I was thinking about what posts to include, Molly from Molly’s Daily Kiss published this years Top 100 Sex Blog for 2017. I was thrilled to see that Kayla Lords is in top spot. Well deserved placings too for so many of my favourite bloggers. Maybe too, inspiration to actually write more so that some day I get nominated for something like this.
Mean time it also means that I can go and read some new blogs, since I don’t know everyone in the list. More material for next week’s post too!
